Eating Disorder Therapy
Eating disorders can feel isolating. You don’t have to feel alone in the recovery process. It is never too soon or too late to begin your healing. No matter what stage you are at in your recovery journey, it can be helpful to have a therapist to support you exploring motivation for recovery, engaging in recovery, maintaining recovery and reconnecting with your authentic self separate from the eating disorder. In a safe and collaborative space, we will navigate what you want your recovery journey to look like together.
Therapy for Healthcare Professionals
Even as healthcare providers, we are also authentic beings navigating our own life experiences. It is optimal for healers to also hold space for their own self-care. Helping professionals deserve to have their own safe space to refill their emotional cup and continue in self-growth. Through a client-centered approach we will collaborate to find a therapeutic style that best fits your needs and utilizes your natural inner strengths as a healer for others.
Art Therapy
We are pleased to be able to offer art therapy as a focus of treatment or adjunctively with other forms of therapy. Creative arts therapies allow people to engage with their experiences in a different and expansive way beyond verbal communication. Art therapy is focused on the process of creating rather than the final creative or art product. This expressive therapy approach can be especially helpful for people who may have strengths in non-verbal processing or seeking support with overcontrol struggles.
EMDR Trauma Therapy
Trauma impacts one in four individuals struggling with an eating disorder. Oftentimes, presenting mental health and eating disorder symptoms may be indicative of underlying traumatic or negative life experiences. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a top-researched evidence based practice that can help you heal in an adaptive way and move through negative experiences holding you back in your life. EMDR can be effective for trauma, anxiety, depression, substance misuse, and eating disorders.
Family Therapy
Mental health struggles can thrive in secrecy and shame. Part of decreasing shame can involve supporting loved ones in learning how to support someone in recovery while also taking care of themselves in the process. Integrating psychoeducation, skills focus, and process therapy, we work with the family/support system in supporting all individuals impacted by mental health and eating disorders.
Consultation & Supervision
We believe in continuing the the growth and education of professionals in our field. As a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Consultant through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), Dr. Capri offers CEDS Consultation to clinicians who are pursuing their hours toward IAEDP certification requirements. Our team of therapists hold additional degrees and certifications to offer supervision to pre- and post-licensed professionals.
Mental Health Therapy
While our team holds additional certifications and trainings in eating disorders and trauma, these struggles rarely occur in a silo. We are trained to assess and treat the co-occurring mental health struggles that commonly co-occur such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, substance use disorders, grief, interpersonal stressors, and phase of life adjustments. Together we will provide a nonjudgmental space to explore how mental health struggles may be impacting you and create a therapy plan that fits your needs.
Couples Therapy
Our team offers couples therapy for those who may be experiencing relationship struggles or just need a reboot to reestablish their connection and goals as a couple. With relational, interpersonal psychotherapy, and psychodynamic approaches to bring present awareness to the subconscious, our therapists will support you as a couple in being able to communicate together and navigate through or around any barriers in the relationship.
